After nearly a month away from home, Tyson, is back at home with family.
It's hard to forget this big guy. The 8-year old Rottweiler mix named Tyson. At the beginning of July, Tyson was shot in the eye and shoulder after two south Toledo residents allegedly went into the Luck family's yard and kidnapped the dog.
Monday night, Tyson underwent surgery for his vet to remove bullet fragments.
"The vet said his eye was looking up and his tail was wagging and he was ready to go," said Josh Luck, Tyson's owner. "He couldn't believe how strongly he pulled through surgery and how many hours after surgery he was up and ready to go."
The dog's owner and doctor both say Tyson is lucky to be alive.
"It's just an absolute miracle that our dog's still here," said Luck. "To have Luck as our last name and our dog still be here, I'll leave that up to you guys to decide, but he's a lucky dog to say the least."
After spending Tuesday at the Reynolds Road Animal Hospital, and just one day after surgery, Tyson is now back at home, which is right where luck says he needs to be.
"He's going to be catered to and babied for a very long time, so I think his healing time will be a lot faster at home," said Luck.
Whether it's a miracle or the man above was on his side, Tyson is one lucky dog.
