MONROE, MICH. -- Authorities in Monroe County are searching for a man they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Monday night.

The suspect, carrying a small black handgun, entered Doug's Party Store, 6721 Whiteford Center in Bedford Township, around 8:20 p.m. He got away with an unknown amount of cash from inside the store.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect and the suspect vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'5" to 5'8" tall with a skinny to medium build. He is said to have sunken or deep eyes and a small cut at the right corner of his mouth. He was last seen wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, knee-length blue jean shorts, white tennis shoes and baseball hat with mesh back. He fled in a silver or gray Volkswagen Jetta with sun roof and tinted rear window.
