LIVERPOOL -- Every game far this season has fans bursting with more and more excitement and garners their attention as Syracuse's basketball team is thrust into the national spotlight just in time for their Big East opener Tuesday night.
At Tully's in Liverpool, dozens of fans braved the snowy weather decked in their best Orange gear ready the game. The #5 ranked Syracuse Orange were visiting Seton Hall, and fans were hanging onto every hoop while they holler. With a 13-0 record, fans like Mark Perrigo, who is home from North Carolina for the holidays, are glad to catch the game with some friends. Mark says, "It's a big deal in North Carolina, it was a big deal down there because there's just a handful of fans down there. So it's kind of neat to be home with friends and see a game here."
Syracuse had beaten Seton Hall in their past three meetings, and Tuesday night was no different with the Orange prevailing 80-73. Fans say the Orange are proving to be a great basketball team this year and they'll be glued to the next game. Fan Jeff Sulewsky says, "With a lot of good talent that has left the past couple years, I was surprised to see these guys do what they've done so far. They beat a lot of good times and look forward to a good season."
