OTTAWA COUNTY -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that killed one woman in Ottawa County on Thanksgiving Day.

Troopers say Anna Bowman, 20, of Sandusky, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire west on Wilcox Rd. shortly before 3:00 p.m. Thursday when the car went off the right side of the road.  The vehicle came back on the road and crossed the center line.

A Ford Taurus eastbound on Wilcox Rd., driven by Lisa Meyer, 45, of Oak Harbor, swerved to avoid Bowman's vehicle but was struck off the right side of the roadway by the Sunfire. Both vehicles came to a rest in the grass off Wilcox Rd. east of Wonnell Rd.

Bowman and her passenger, Ashley Wilson, 21, of Sandusky, were taken by Life Flight to Mercy St. Vincents Medical Center with serious injuries.  Wilson, a front-seat passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Meyer, and her two passengers, Samantha Meyer, 12, and Scott Gdovicak, were taken to Magruder Hospital with only minor injuries. Gdovicak, a back-seat passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Troopers say Wilson passed away at 6:20 p.m. Thursday from injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
