Trash pick-up altered thanks to Thanksgiving holiday

TOLEDO -- The Thanksgiving holiday is altering trash schedules in Toledo and Bowling Green beginning this week.

The city of Bowling Green says regularly-scheduled Thursday refuse and recycling collection will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 25 this week only. City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Garbage collection in Toledo will LEAP forward another day beginning Friday, Nov. 27.  There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day.  If your trash is normally collected on Fridays, your new day for collection will be Monday. 

According the the city's observed holidays, a Toledo resident's trash collection day will leap forward 13 times in 2009.
