WILLIAMS COUNTY -- Nearly 200 workers expecting to be laid off at a Williams County auto supplier will keep their jobs.

Employees of Edgerton's Midwest Stamping will remain in their positions after learning the company's buyer will retain the current workforce.

More Northwest Ohioans are out of work just weeks before the holiday season.

Midwest Stamping in Edgerton has laid off nearly 200 workers.  The layoffs come as a result of the company's inability to find new business.

The company has not said if the layoffs are permanent.  A notice sent by Midwest Stamping to the state of Ohio claims the company is being sold to a Canadian firm.

Midwest Stamping supplies parts to the auto industry.

The layoffs add insult to injury for a troubled Williams County.  The area saw the highest unemployment rate of any county in the state of Ohio from April through July of this year.
