TOLEDO, OH -- I am one month into my triathlon training and four weeks closer to swimming, biking and running my way across my first finish line.

Many of you have been asking how training is coming along but I don't feel I am doing anything impressive just yet.

My trainer says that is exactly where I should be.

In October, I met Liz Young of the Team Toledo Triathlon Club.

She developed a workout plan for me in order to prepare me to compete in the race that inspired my goal: the Sylvania Triathlon.

Still, right now, she says it is not about being race-ready.

"Right now we're a little early on to train for anything specific so the best thing is to make sure your body is strong, you have cardiovascular endurance, you have muscular strength and good core strength," said Young.

She says in the past month, I should have developed a healthy exercise addiction.

"You're going to miss it if you don't do it," said Young. "It's going to become so much of a habit, you're going to feel so much better."

I have already noticed a big boost in my endurance and speed, especially in the water.

And I can tell you for certain it has been so amazing to have a fitness, not a weight-loss goal.

"That way it's not just 'I've got to go to the gym.' It's 'I'm going to the gym today because I'm going to work on this and then tomorrow it's going to be that' and it just breaks it up and makes it exciting and especially if you've got people to do it with," said Young.

I'm looking for people to do it with and people who just might want to leave a word of encouragement.
