Votes being tallied as election nears end

TOLEDO -- Ohioans flocked to the polls Tuesday and area residents were eager to make their vote count. 

In addition to a number of state and local issues, the next mayor of the City of Toledo will be chosen before the night is over. Mayoral candidates Mike Bell (I) and Keith Wilkowski (D) were out all morning and afternoon trying to encourage people to get out and vote.

The polls will remain open in Lucas County until 7:30 p.m.  Michigan voting booths will be open until 8:00 p.m.

As of 5:00 PM, the Lucas County Board of Elections reported that 21.2 percent of voters had turned out in Toledo while 25 percent turned out in Lucas County.
