TEMPERANCE, MI -- The Monroe County Health Department sponsored its first mass vaccination for the H1N1 virus.

Between 3 and 9pm on Monday around 1400 people received the vaccine.   The clinic took place at the Bedford High School on Jackman Road in Temperance.

Dr. Rebecca Head of  the Monroe County Health Department says the focus is to vaccinate pregnant women, infants and children first.  "We really want to make sure that we give the vaccine to those who are most susceptible,"  Dr. Head said.
