Judy Foti tells NBC24 that her once missing fiberglass horse has now been found. Two teenaged boys rang her doorbell around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday to tell her "Big Bucks" was in a ditch about half a mile from her home.
Foti's daughter went out to check the ditch and found the life-size horse statue.
(Ottawa Lake, Mich.) -- Judy Foti has had a horse on the front lawn of her Smith Road home for the past ten years, but now it is gone.
Horse thieves struck Sunday night and took her life-sized fiberglass horse named "Big Bucks", ripping it right from its familiar place on the lawn, leaving only its rope hanging from the tree. Foti says she saw some lights in the drive way on Sunday night and send her daughter out to see what was going on and that's when they saw a large truck driving away with the horse.
To Judy Foti, who grew up in her native England, riding horses as a young girl, she has been devastated by the theft. She says she got the statue as a gift from her husband ten years ago because their yard was too small for a real horse, so she says he bought her a life-sized statue instead.
Judy says she is hoping that this theft is just a Halloween prank and that it was be found safe and unharmed. She is offering a $200 reward for anyone who can help return the horse to her.
