SWANTON, OH -- The Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 1:43 this afternoon.

Hope Mattin, 58, of Delta, was standing next to her car which was parked on Fulton County Road C near County Road 4, when she was struck by a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Alanna K. Crable, 17, of Napoleon. Crable was eastbound on County Road C when she went off the left side of the road and struck Mrs. Mattin, pinning her underneath the vehicle.

Mrs. Mattin was transported from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent's Hospital by air ambulance where she later died. Ms. Crable and a passenger suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
