Toledo Police have confirmed that a TPD records clerk is accused of performing an illegal search of information related to 'Joe the Plumber.'

Julie McConnell, has been charged with Gross Misconduct for allegedly making an improper inquiry into a state database in search of information pertaining to Samuel Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16.

Wurzelbacher came under the spotlight after being spoken about during the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.

The inquiry into Wurzelbacher's record is a violation of department and state policy governing the use of the Law Enforcement Automated Data System.  The clerk is under fire for making the inquiry for a non-law enforcement purpose.

McConnell was hired by the Toledo Police Department in April 1995 and assigned to the Investigative Services Bureau.

A discplinary hearing will be scheduled within the next ten days.

In response

In response to 'Jim Plumber, Ft Myers, Fl' - the only thing the media did was report the numerous lies and/or distortions told by Mr.Wurzelbacher. He lied about being a plumber, he lied about buying the business, and he misrepresented the income of that business. They also reported that he is a tax cheat - something that I, as a lifelong taxpayer, resent greatly. Reporting on his tax situation was entirely relevant to the story, which was at it's heart about taxes.

What Julie McConnell did is something else - and I would agree that her actions constitute an abuse of her position. She had no business going into the man's records, and no doubt she did so with ill intent.

The larger media though, did it's job in reporting the facts about this man that chose to step into the public eye. Remember, all Sen Obama did was answer the man's questions - if it had been up to him, that would have been it. Sen McCain is the one who invited Mr.Wurzelbacher to take on a larger public role, and it was Mr.Wurzelbacher who chose to accept. His actions since that day have shown a man all too happy to be on the public stage. If he didn't want negative stories about him to circulate, then he shouldn't have 1) accepted Sen McCain's invitation to join his political campaign, and/or 2) lied about so many things.

The man lied repeatedly, and now people are shocked that he is receiving negative press? I for one have little respect for liars and tax cheats - and I suspect most of America feels the same. The party of personal accountability? Always in words - never in deeds.

Obama put your money where your mouth is.!

Posted by Jim Plumber, Ft Myers, Fl - Tuesday, November 04, 2008 at 3:59 p.m.

Joe the plumber did nothing wrong. All he did was ask a question to Obama.

So that alone gives the media the right to personally attack Joe?

They should have been attacking Obama. After all he wants to be 'fair & spread the wealth'.

Obama, let the U.S. public see how much you believe in your 'spread the wealth' comment by giving the U.S. government YOURS & your wife's Millions of dollars.

If you can give, so can I.

BUT until you put your money where your mouth is, I suggest you quit.!!

Reality.

"Joe the plumber", another ridiculous distraction in an election that found the republican camp overflowing with them. The reality of republican governance is essentially national suicide. For 30+ years we saw the republican minority throw stones, talking endlessly about what they would do if they ever had their hands on the rudder of government. Well, they had it - the presidency for 8 years, and total control of both houses + the WH for 6 years. What did it bring us? The worst attack on American soil in our history. A DOUBLING of the national debt (ten TRILLION!). Our brave soldiers mired in two seemingly endless wars - only to come home to find their benefits slashed by the same republicans that wrap themselves in the flag at every opportunity. An economy in shambles. Epic unemployment. Crime once again on the rise after historical lows in the 19990's. An unprecedented level of corruption that reached (reaches) the very top of their party (anyone remember Abramoff? Delay? Foley? Cunningham? Etc Etc). The most basic functions of the government placed in the hands of incompetents (FEMA, for example). Our national discourse thrown into the gutter by the likes of Rove, whose tactics are a disgrace to the entire country. Well guess what - we're wise to you now. Wherever the talking points come from....Tucker Bounds, McCain, Palin, or Rove himself - we've wised up. The American people have seen with their own eyes what 'conservative' government produces, and we are unimpressed, to say the least. You ran the country off the road, and you DESERVE to lose - what's more, I suspect you know it. So continue smearing, and attempting to pass off innuendo, irrational conjecture, and baseless fear-mongering as a substitute for reason and effective policy. The jig is up, republicans - here in the real world (including MANY in the upper echelons of your OWN PARTY), we're done with you.

Shame on the republican party, and shame on those who would try to convince us to endanger our country by handing them the reins for another 4 years. Enough is enough.

I'm sadly suprised

So many people are biting eachothers heads off. Frankly, I don't see the point, while I do disagree with what some have written, I feel that the point and the quickest resolution is to discuss.

I don't know whats going on here. If the above is true, then I truly question Obama's plan. Now, should his party be responsible and not him (Which I honestly doubt) then they should be eliminated from the party.

What I don't understand about our country is we sit back and read, watch and hear about all this corruption happening all around us. Yet, I fail to see many people trying to step up and do something about it. People like this article describes should not be in power of the citizens. It's disgusting, it's our lives at stake, and are any of you going to do anything about it?

The entire "Joe The Plumber" deal is simply a diversionary tactic to get you to NOT focus on Sen. Obama's "spread the wealth" plan. People are snooping around the personal life of a man who simply asked a tough question and was given an extremely questionable answer. Perhaps the focus should be on the fact that Sen. Obama would never be able to pass an FBI background check to be hired by the government ... but, if the polls are correct, about half this country is ready to ignore that and hire him anyway. Joe is a small potato. As for the previous comment about Republicans needing to educate themselves ... since the postings I've read indicate that the rich of this country are Republicans, maybe it's the Democrats who need an education.

Holy Cow at the comments. Some reporter has a contact in the Police Department. Same reporter calls Contact and asks Contact to run a background on Joe The Plumber. Contact knows what she is doing is wrong but has probably done it 1,000 times before with no repercussions, but this time it catches up with her. Result: Thousands of lunatic comments on this board from pananoid idiots blaming Obama, McCain, Nazi's, Republicans, Democrats, Bush, Cheney, Nader, Patrick Buchannan, UFO's, Garfield the Cat, Batman, Bigfoot, and The Loch Ness Monster. What on earth happened to America??? By the way, America, haven't you learned that once you go out of your way to make yourself public property, and Joe the Plumber sure went out of his way to do that, all your skeletons are going to come out of the closet whether you want them to or not. That's the price you pay for your 15 minutes of fame, and it's nobody's fault but Joe's.

Joe is not a Plumber! He is an insult to every tax paying American. He doesn't even deserve to have his name mentioned. He needs to go back to school get a license, pay his taxes, and then complain. If I was him, I would be totally embaressed. By the way I am white and I fall into the top tax bracket and I support Obama. I am not blinded by race or lies. I actually read and research to find the truth.

Ya'll need to go to college. Too bad you won't be able to afford it under a McCain presidency.

Any one who thinks this is bad is a moron! Joe got what he deserved. He has no plumbers license, so therefore he is not a plumber. Did you stop to think that maybe he was put there for the Republican Party.
Coincidence that he lived in Alaska in 1990. What the reporter did was wrong and she will get her punishment, but for a person to stand in public and question taxes knowing full well of his past, is a moron.

Abusing your power to harm a citizen for political purposes is dishonorable. Democrats often excuse their corruption with the mantra "everybody does it." This twisted promotion of corruption over the rule of law is the way a Nation falls into oppression and poverty. Please stop!

Take the day off work

Posted by Carlton Massey, Youngstown - Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 12:32 a.m.

That is an odd encouragement in this time of uncertainty in the business and financial sector.

Obama wants people to ditch work on election day?

Would that not hurt the productivity of many businesses and virtually shut down commerce that day if we ALL followed his suggestion?

How very strange for a presidential candidate to encourage financial harm to the economy (albeit for one day) during a period of market instability and a solvency crisis. In fact that makes no sense at all . . . unless . . .

Unless they want plenty of people in the streets that day to threaten our Republic, and coherce the electoral system with the threat of rebellion and murder.

Surely that isn't the reason, because that would mean that the sand has run out and strife is upon us. I can't believe for a minute any sane person(s) would want to see America torn apart by a civil war.

Although the Russians would like that, and the Chinese too. I guess the muslims, Indians, Bill Ayers, Eurocentrists, Mexicans and other illegals, communists, anarchists, North Koreans, Pakistanis, Venezuelans, Cubans, and some others would enjoy watching America disintigrate as well.

Of course if you were an enemy of the USA, that would make a great opportunity for a sneaky nuclear strike. In fact what better opportunity will there ever be?

How very odd.

Good people let us see that we DONT disintigrate. I have things to do, and neither civil war nor post-apocalyptic survival was on the list.

Have a pleasant day

Deborah you poor UNINFORMED voter. Obviously you have read nothing about ACORN and the reality of situation. While we're on the subject why don't we talk about the Republican arrested in California for using sleazy tactics to register republican voters. Before you come back with another one of your poor republican rhetoric attacks, this happened to my poor uninformed cousin. You wanna talk sleazy, "Hey you wanna keep child molesters off the street... oh wait remember to check Republican because thats the only way they will accept it." A week later, in the mail sits a welcome to the Republican Party postcard. I'd say that's sleazy. Well Deborah you've obviously been living in a bubble these past 8 years, or chances are they've fed you into the whole everyone whose not republican, christian or doesn't fit your standard GOP comfort zone views is a terrorist notion. You're a lost cause... it's no wonder your party is falling apart and why this country is in the state it's in. Oh yeah, i almost forgot, lets not forget the sleazy election steals of 00 in Florida and 04 in Ohio. Sorry Deb, but the rest of us INFORMED voters and citizens have decided and we're tired of the right's relentless fear mongering, hypocritical and disastrous ideals. Joe the Village Idiot and Sarah Palin is all you guys have left... so sad. I feel sorry but then again, I don't. The majority of us in this country are moving on... come along if you wish but if you decide to stay behind... so be it.

Citizens Fear Government PERSECUTION

Posted by Marcella Saurette, Montreal - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:27 p.m.

This is not a Democrat-Republican, problem. This is a FREEDOM problem. This is about Nazis, who have secure jobs working in government offices. This is about so-called democratic election organizations which will have no scruples when it comes to PERSECUTING citizens who publicly question the official 'party' line. Yes, the Clinton people 'sicked' (sic) the IRS to check tax records of their political enemies. Yes, Nixon had a hate list. Yes, Bush-Cheney decimated the Bill of Rights. BUT REMEMBER, OBAMA VOTED FOR FISA. My conclusion is that America is on the verge of a totalitarian coup. It's not Obama. It's Brezinski and Soros who are behind him. It's not McCain. He is still a tool of the Neocons. The economic crash was orchestrated to twist America's arm behind her back, to break her, to make her submit. They used the subprime mortgages as the preferred instruments of domestic torture. Neither party should get a landslide. If they do, hear that toilet flushing.

I think Joe the Plumber has a pretty good case against this leftist idiot if he decides to sue. I hope he does sue and I hope he takes her for everything she has. But, she's probably a penniless leftist loser who wants Obama to win so she can get free handouts. He should sue her anyway to teach her a lesson. Redistribute some of her wealth into his bank account.

Obama can't apply to the FBI but he can run for our highest office!

Posted by Deborah Bud, NJ - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 7:13 p.m.

We have our noses in Joe's business (a Obama tactic to divert attention from what he said to Joe), but we don't know a thing about this potential great leader. We still only have a one page health document for Obama and no birth certificate, hidden tapes and thesis of Michelle. He can't run if he is not a US citizen under law. The fact is Joe could likely apply to the FBI for a job, Obama could NOT because of his known associations with communists and terrorists. Yet he is running for President of the United States. America needs to demand to know the truth about Obama.

Every single ACORN registration should be tossed out. If anyone is going to look into anything they need to look into just how Obama trained ACORN recruits. Obama is about to "Steal" our election. NOT IN MY COUNTRY! Do we need to go backward to putting ink on our fingers to vote?

Jessee Jackson said, "Israel would have less influence under a Barack Obama, he said under Obama there would be a very different Israel"

OBAMA RAISED A LOT OF MONEY. 150 MILLION IN ONE MONTH. RECORD AMOUNTS OF MONEY. CONGRATULATIONS MR. OBAMA IF YOU WANT TO "SPREAD THE WEALTH AROUND" SO BAD, FOR THE GOOD OF ALL, WHY DOESN'T HE JUST GIVE IT TO McCAIN, HE DOESN'T HAVE MUCH.

Obama has run the sleaziest, most corrupt campaign since Nixon. BY THE TIME WE FIND OUT THE EXTENT OF THE CORRUPTION THE ELECTION WILL BE OVER... BY THAT TIME WHAT WILL WE LEARN?

Young people, please vote informed and for the right reasons. History repeats itself, know your history. Not because ACORN handed you 73 registration forms to fill out, tossed you on a bus and asked you to vote early for a socialist that would do anything to win this election. NEVER IN MY COUNTY HAVE WE SEEN THESE TACTICS.
ON ALL THE ISSUES, OBAMA DOES NOT DENY THEM, HE DEFUSES THEM BY SAYING WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE ISSUES. IT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE ISSUES. One Obama tactic is to repeat, if you say something enough it will make it fact. Americans are too smart for these low tactics, we will show Obama on election day how informed we are.

GOD help America if Obama becomes president.

I'd like to pin all these things on Obama and the Democrats, but I can't quite connect the dots. Can someone give me a background on these claims? The birth certificate investigation, the Muslim thing, the votes in Congress/Senate that blocked bills that would have avoided the financial crisis (giving the actual Bill number of the blocked bill would suffice), and an explanation of what Obama has done that make him socialist. I need links tho, backup material, not just claims. You might know a claim is true, but in order to drive it home you really need proof.

The financial crisis seems to have been brought on by deregulation, Alan Greenspan himself admitted this, so that's hard to pin on the Democrats.

I think the college grades are sealed for a lot of candidates, including Palin, so that doesn't surprise me.

At no point does the article disclose the political leanings of the person who allegedly conducted an illegal database search. For all we know, it could have been a McCain/Palin supporter who couldn't restrain her curiosity. Jumping to conclusions and spinning fanciful, presumptive tales in the comments section doesn't actually contribute to a discussion on this topic.

The fact that the worker is being called to task at all should be a sign that this behavior won't be tolerated, no matter who is in charge after elections. Remember this one? Habeas Corpus? Your Republican President who demolished the Constitutional right that's been in there for years to protect the safeguarding of individual freedom against arbitrary state action. Remember that one? Did you throw your arms up in rage when that freedom was demolished or do you just pick small minute instances like someone at some clerk office in nowhere Ohio going through personal files? Seriously? You blame the Democratric party for that? Wow? Remember now that at anytime, for no reason at all someone can enter your house, handcuff you and throw you in jail for no reason at all and there's nothing you can do about it. Oh and the "Republican party" made it possible to also listen to all your phone calls by law now even if your not a threat. Did you know that? But your right, lets hang this woman in nowhere land Ohio for going through personal files and then blame Obama because he told her to do it right? I think some of you need to pay attention as to what we as Americans have lost in the last eight years as far our rights of the Constitution go. Oh yeah, and that girl that lied about getting attacked and inscribing a backwards "B" on her face, we'll just forget that even happened or that she worked for the Mccain party. There are always going to be irresponsible people out there doing stupid things. Worry about what you do rather than spending time playing the blame game. Republican, Democrat, Liberals are all the same dirty politicians. Once you realize that, then you can call yourself a true American Citizen. And if you really feel like we are becoming "Nazi-America", keep doing your best to divide the U.S.A. by writing your wonderful "blame that guy" post. But remember one thing ok, UNITED WE STAND, UNITED WE FALL.

BIRTH CERT- HAWAII TRIP

Posted by lynn lowrie, ca - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 4:32 p.m.

DELAYED BIRTH CERT FILINGS ARE ROUTINE IN ANY STATE OR COUNTY GOVERNMENT IN THE US.

OBAMA WENT TO HA TO SEE GRANDMA (DEATHLY ILL?, BROKEN HIPS DON'T USUALLY KILL PEOPLE, SHE WAS AT HOME, AND CELEBRATING HER BIRTHDAY, WHICH HE DID NOT STAY TO ATTEND BY THE WAY)

OBAMA RUNS IN AND HAS GRANDMA SIGN A FORM STATING HIS HAWAIIAN BIRTH, THEN FILES IT, THATS ALL IT TAKES, DONE. IT BECOMES A LEGAL DOCUMENT ACCEPTED MOST ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. HER SAY SO IS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE 'SHE IS SAYING SHE WAS A WITNESS', TRUTH OR NOT. HAD SOMEONE IN MY OWN FAMILY PULL IT OFF TO WORK FOR A COMPANY.

AND, IT TAKES A FEW DAYS TO ACTUALLY RECORD THE DOCUMENT, SO IT IS OUT OF REACH UNTIL IT IS RECORDED (LIKE AFTER THE ELECTION?)

GOD BE WITH US IF THIS MAN GETS INTO OFFICE.

BY THE WAY, DID YOU KNOW HE'S A TWO PACK A DAY CHAIN SMOKER (HIS PLANE STINKS), AND BIDEN HAS AN ANURISM(SP?) IN HIS BRAIN, WE JUST MIGHT GET LUCKY WITH THESE TWO.

Posted by J W, NY - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 4:24 p.m.

While this search is illegal and should certainly be treated as such, was any non-public information about Joe the Plumber divulged? Tax liens are public record, as are professional licenses, etc.

Reporting the publicly facts, such as the fact Joe was lying when he said Obama's proposed tax increase would impact him (he would not be earning $250k a year income, few small business owners can pay themselves that sort of salary) is not a crime. I don't see how this clerk's crime is more than a case study for applying privacy law penalties.

Seriously folks, Bush and Co. has been doing far worse for the last 8 years in an official, governmental capacity and one idiot clerk has you convinced that Obama is gonna come steal your civil rights (that Bush has already revoked)? No matter who is in power it's up to the citizens to safeguard it by watching the watchers. We've done a poor job the last few years, but be honest with yourselves. Your comments are truly unbelievable. I have never read anything more misinformed and reactionary. I am not an Obama supporter - I think he is a war-mongering nut. However, before you criticize someone, gets your facts straight. He's not Muslim, the type of re-distribution of wealth he is in favor of is something McCain supported until 6 months ago (you can see video of it on youtube) and was espoused by Adam Smith in The Wealth of Nations (a book Americans love to tout as their guide to economics), and he's hardly a "left-wing extremist." From a Canadian perspective, he's pretty far right - more right than the leader of our Conservative Party. It's pretty pathetic that people from other countries are better informed about your presidential candidates than Americans themselves. The republican's revoked the most important right you have. The right to habeas corpus. Or, in plain speak, an attorney. Under the patriot act, the government can hold you, joe the plumber, or anybody if they simply feel like it. For as long as they want.

Both parties, and both candidates passed FISA, which will let them search all internet communication as much as they want. Why didn't you call your congressmen then?

I hate the fact that because I support obama I don't love my country.

I hate the fact that conservatives support Sarah Palin, just because. Forget experience for a second and look at intelligence. Obama graduated first in his class from Harvard Law school. Do you any of you have any idea how hard that is? He is clearly extremely intelligence and, shock, loves this country just as much as you do. Sarah Palin on the other hand, just plain isn't very smart. She couldn't answer questions in the debate, so she changed the question. How is that reasonable?

George bush took office with a 4 TRILLION dollar deficit. We are now extremely close to 11. Why doesn't any conserverative ever seem to care one wink about that? The Trickle down economic's of the republican party don't work. Rich people either keep the money, or if they manage to create a job, it's overseas. How does that help us.

In my lifetime, the "tax and spend" liberal's have been way more responsible with budgets, and my children's future debt responsibility, than any republican administration. Where are the fiscal conservatives?

GW Bush is not allowed into Canada

Posted by Susan See, Maine - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.

Canada does not allow anyone into Canada who has been convicted of a Driving Under the Influence charge. And this automatically excludes our current president. by the way, those of you who think that the invasion of your privacy is coming..you haven't been paying attention. It's already here. I had a pre-paid cell phone and it was tapped by the FBI, who listened to all my private conversations because the guy who had the number before me was wanted on drug charges. I have no record and had a secret clearance before I retired. So, be careful what you say; Big Brother could be listening. Judges hand out warrants like candy now. And you have Mr. Bush to thank for this.

NBC TV Has Failed Joe the Plumber, Too

What surprises me is that this NBC 24, and other national networks, talk about Joe's peersonal life, which is of no absolute value to them, and yet has failed the people of Toledo regarding Obama's life story. The American public is hungry for info on "O's" birth certificate, his college records and writings, his affiliations with anti-Americans and in general, his forecast for the US shouldl he be elected.

It will be pushed under the carpet by the Toledo PD.

I sometimes can't believe how incedibly stupid some of the comments of the democrats are. The one about Joe the Plumber being a plant made me loose control. This has to be the funniest one yet. I guess the Republican Party knew Obama was going to be walking down that street at that time and made sure that Joe was outside playing football with his son and they just knew Obama was going to talk to him. Look if the Republican Party was that smart we would be up by 20 points in the polls. It just shows how messed up the thinking is in the Democratic Party. There is absolutly no ethics left in their Party. Destroy anybody that even asks a question. Then cover up every detail of Obama. No Birth Cert. No School Records. I agree with the comment that all presidential candidates should have to have a security check and clearance. I doublt that Obama would pass with his past associations. Also, what is the deal about not providing a birth certificate unless he was not born in the U.S. and his Kenya grandmother is right and he was born in Kenya and she was present. I don't understand why there is no government checks for a presidential run. A judge that says a citizen cannot ask for his birth certificate and the Gov. of Hawaii has his records sealed. Bad enough that the main stream media is part of his campaign but Is the fix in.

Is anyone surprised that this would happen, this is only the beginning if this man gets elected this is only the tip of the iceberg! I work with voters of different nationality and I can promise you they could care less about his values and beliefs all they care about is that he is black and 1/2 black at that, one even maybe a comment about what he promising as a reason to cast his vote! Well he might need any more handouts if he had have used birth control, he has 4 kids and a wife that has been going to school forever I say she needs to get a job I have to work and the last time I looked she isn't any better than me to work and she is alot younger. Get a job and keep those legs together, I'm tired of hearing poor me and what can I get for free, I say give them a free ticket back to the country of origin! I am sick of keeping up free loaders and just because of my choice to work and take care of myself I have to give a large portion of my income in taxes to cover for them. If these liberal agendas are put forth we all need to argue against it.

As to the birth eligibility issue: has anyone thought that this is a stall...they are hoping to win the Presidency, and win a large enough majority in Congress. Then the Supremes will review the eligibility question and say he is NOT qualified. He will say, " OH goodness ! I THOUGHT I was!" Then the Democrat-heavy Congress will come to the rescue, under the guise of doing "what the American people want," and CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS of eligibility. Voila, Obama will be made the lawful President.

Our "real-life" Manchurian candidate.

Posted by Greg Neubeck, Lynn Haven, Florida - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10:08 a.m.

The Manchurian candidate becomes a reality. In perhaps the greatest irony in American history an individual who: because of numerous long-term subversive associations; his immersion in seditious anti-American diatribe; admitted heavy drug use; a rejection of our Constitution which he calls: "seriously defective"; and, a failure to produce a certifiable birth certificate -COULD NOT PASS a basic FBI background check for an initial security clearance, is considered to be a serious contender for the Presidency of the United States! How is it possible that a man who is widely recognized as the least experienced; and, most radical far-left extremist ever nominated by a major political party could beguile so many simply because, while anchored to a teleprompter, he's a SLICK TALKER? A man who, was a principal architect of the mortgage meltdown; and, an individual who labored feverishly to engineer an American defeat in Iraq. In perhaps the ONLY forthright moment of his extended campaign, Barack "ACORN" Obama, while being interviewed on ABC, lamented the dispersions frequently cast against: "MY MUSLIM FAITH". A comment Colin Powell followed-up with: "So what if he is a Muslim". Which poses THE REAL QUESTION: Why did Obama lie to the American people? The ascendancy of this charlatan, along with his characteristically angry, "Hate America" wife, Michelle Obama, to the Presidency would unquestionably mark the portending demise of our Constitutional Republic that so many have shed their precious blood to nurture and preserve. First rule

Posted by Chris Buchholz, Chicago - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 9:34 a.m.

I've worked in several positions with access to sensitive information at corporations in HR, Compensation, and done some government work. The first rule is you do not look up data on anyone, ever, unless it's part of the course of your typical work. never look up information for personal purposes, or to help anyone. Anyone caught doing so is fired immediately then sued. I can't believe someone did that.

Though honestly I can believe it. Too many people put their political beliefs ahead of morality, who think the ends justify the means, or love "mankind" more than they love their neighbor.

Just how did the illegal information get to the press? The agencies involved would have to release it illegally to the press. Even if done for internal reasons, Helen Jones-Kelley releasing this information to the press, is an unacceptable invasion of privacy and the perpetrators should be spending time in orange jump suits.

Anything less and we will know that we need to change out the state government with people of actual principles, instead of the principles of a gutter snipe.

Clerk charged with unlawful search of Joe the plumber

Posted by James Pikens, Atlanta, GA - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 8:36 a.m.

This has got the be a new low in politics. If America has sunk to the level that we can no longer engage in challenging conversation with a candidate for high office, then we are done as a free country.
An even more perplexing question is that with all the unanswered questions about Barack Obama such as who paid for his house, who paid for his education, is he even a natural born citizen? Why waste time and resources on Joe when questions about Barack Obama are much more important.
F.Y.I. That so-called birth certificate posted on his website is so phoney even a blind man can spot the errors on it. If he has nothing to hide, why doesn't he just produce the original copy to a judge, get it verified and the main question about him is put to rest.
He is hiding something and because of that, not withstanding his marxist views, he should not be elected President.

More Investigation Needed

Posted by Stuart Gary, Texas - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 8:20 a.m.

Yes, yes, we all agree, more investigation needs to be done in regards to Obama's ties to the middle east terrorist organizations. But wait, many accounts of Obama's ties to thugs has already been exposed on worldnetdaily. Just this morning, news regarding Obama's financial ties to Sadam Hussien via Rezko has been published.

The big question is why isn't anyone of political or judicial authority taking action. "The People" requested that the birth certificate of Obama be examined, but was ruled down by a judge that stated "the people" do not have authority to issue a request for investigation of this sort.

Perilous times indeed when islamic fundamentalist are excited for a US election and financially support a candidate. The masses have been duped and are willing to vote for anyone to remove the republican candidate/platform from government office.

Can you blame them? They may be ignorant of world history and how socialism has been the demise of nation after nation throughout mans history, but change IS needed within our government, just not the king they are seeking, i.e. social/communistic paradise where everyone is on the same level...........some fantasy indeed.

I realize that, with NBC so far in the tank for Obama, it's difficult to do any real investigation but did any of your reporters look for a direct tie between this clerk and the Democrat party snd the Obama campaign? I understand that one of the other possibly illegal background searches on Joe was done by one of the Governor's appointees who searched for any detrimental info on Joe in the state's child support database even though Joe's son lives with him and he doesn't pay child support. Now, if we could just find the sources of the other two or three official illegal background searches done on Joe.

Releasing records to public not noted in charges

Posted by K C, MI - Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 6:34 a.m.

Funny how the fact that the records of Joe W were released into public hands for perusal, yet those charges are not put forth. She should IMMEDIATELY be removed from her job, then fired when proven guilty.

It is absolutely unknown just HOW MANY records were pulled at the behest of the Democratic party/Obama camp on any citizens not so prominently shoved to the forefront of the race. How many records were pulled to blackmail, or merely cause grief over ANY SLIGHT that the Obama camp felt may endanger their candidate?

How many records were pulled over editorials written to papers or on blogs? Obama supporters see NO law to small or large to violate to get their man/schill in.

One of the OTHER FOUR violations of privacy for public release. "Checking his child support records because she saw him with his son"- YET ANOTHER Obama max contributor that held the position of top of the Gov't agency in that field. How many people on TV or in the paper NOT against Obama were wrung through the child support wringer to get their info (for public release to the Obama campaign) as this lady says is STANDARD PRACTICE for anyone that is in the news with kids?

Elect Obama & you will EXPERIENCE these practice on a regular & consistant basis. There is a recording of him out NOW stating his desire for the Supreme Court to CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION to redistribute the wealth of the country (regarding blacks and reparations in the context I heard). To ADD a bill of rights that HE would have.

You are swimming in the koolaid to vote for what this guy will do to our country. The last several years of financial crisis brought to a boil by Democrats in congress/Senate blocking anything that was trying to be done to help the economy with HUNDREDS of votes to show displeasure with the war taking precedence. Pelosi shutting down the house, the lights, & finally C-Span to avoid gas price lowering vote on drilling to save the taxpayers a dollar or two per gallon. (Price lowered immediately when Bush dropped offshore drilling ban on executive level so congress could drop it at their level).

Then the financial 'crisis' brought to a boil immediately thereafter- that Barney Frank, Obama, and another Dem were the TOP three for payoffs to look the other way on fannie/freddie. Then blame it on Bush when the DEMS in congress BLOCKED regulation and closer scrutiny of policies. The crisis was manufactured. The letters are out there that spell out a Obama "change" into socialism, which is only a word that sounds nicer than Communism- which is what Obama desires if you LISTEN TO HIS OWN WORDS recorded & being played on the radio- Hannity, Rush, & more.
