(Toledo)--"Engineers without Borders" knows no boundaries when it comes to helping those who are less fortunate as well as mother earth. And you can help too.
University of Toledo engineering student Adam Dellinger is a big man on campus when it comes to putting others before himself. He's currently on a work trip, helping to supply water to various villages in Honduras, including Los Sanchez. Dellinger's a member of "Engineers without Borders" or EWB.
EWB is an international organization. UT's chapter decided to take on this South American challenge several years ago based on the recommendation of the Peace Corp.
The undertaking is quite large when it comes to finances. It'll take tens of thousands of dollars to get the job done. Several grants are in the works, but now the group needs your help. It's actually raising money by collecting ink cartridges as well as toner out of laser printers. There are about a dozen collection boxes on campus, including the student book store and Savage Arena.
So far UT's "Engineers without Borders" has raised $400. Each ink cartridge is bringing in two bucks while the toner is worth three. To learn more about what this drive is all about, log onto http://www.eng.utoledo.edu/~ewob/. You can also e-mail toledoink@gmail.com with any questions.
