TOLEDO -- Toledo Police say they are investigating a report of a rape of a woman inside her South Toledo apartment.

The 20-year-old victim told police she was getting out of her car outside her apartment in the 3300-block of Arlington Ave. around midnight Tuesday when she was attacked.  The masked suspect held her at gunpoint and forced her inside her apartment where he raped her, according to the woman.  He then fled the scene.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, 6' tall, and 175 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black ski mask, and gloves.

Sergeant Sam Harris of the Toledo Police Department's Special Victim's Unit says the assailant appears to have been stalking the victim.  "He made mention to the victim that he realized she was alone quite often and that he had been watching her in the past," Sgt. Harris said.
