Friends help local sports celebrity stricken with ALS

TOLEDO, OHIO -- Friends and colleagues of Northwest Ohio Knights co-owner Dave Calabrese held an auction fundraiser today at Saturn of Toledo.  Calebrese is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease.  A variety of sports memorabilia were up for auction and raffles were being sold for  a chance to win tickets to the upcoming college football game between Ohio State University and the University of Michigan.  Harvey Steele of radio station K-100 helped arrange the auction.  "We have a lot of restaurant gift certificates, we have a lot of sports memorabilia, football, hockey, NASCAR, we have salon items, really there's something for everybody," Mr.. Steele.  On Sunday, November 7 at the Break room Lounge in Maumee the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association is having an event that will feature live music, chili and hotdogs.  Tickets are $15.  The event goes from noon-7pm.   Some of the groups scheduled to perform are Nightlife, Locoweed, Bonkers and SeeAlice.
