TOLEDO -- An Amber Alert that was issued for a 7-year-old Toledo boy has been cancelled after he was found inside his own home sleeping under his bed.
Police were notified early Wednesday morning that Matthew Henderson, 7, was missing from his home at 3070 Airport Highway in South Toledo. He had last been seen around midnight. An Amber Alert was issued shortly after 5:00 a.m.
An alert was issued to be on the lookout for a missing or abducted 7-year-old black male, last seen wearing blue jeans, a jean jacket, blue school uniform dress shirt, and blue sandals.
The boy's mother also gave police a description of a black man she believed abducted the boy.
The boy was later found to be sleeping under his bed inside his home.
There is no word on why family or authorities did not search the entire home.
The Amber Alert had been issued for all of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams and Wood counties.
