The Coast Guard is saying three people were rescued from a Lake Erie boat taking on water Wednesday morning.
The boaters were rescued around 10:15 a.m. just west of Toledo at the start of the Maumee River shipping channel which is about eight miles east of Sterling State Park in Michigan.
The first call for help came shortly after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. The Coast Guard took a little over an hour to locate the victims. A rescue swimmer was dropped into the water to attend to victims and wait for a rescue boat to arrive.
The victims were brought back to the Toledo Coast Guard Station. No injuries were reported.
