An arrest warrant was issued for Bowling Green State University football player Jacob Hardwick, 21, who was believed to have been involved in a June 2 home invasion at a Klotz Road apartment. Hardwick was indicted last week by a Wood County grand jury on charges of robbery and aggravated burglary.
Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Hardwick turned himself in, according to the Wood County Sherriff's Department.
Authorities say they attempted to serve the arrest warrant on Mr. Hardwick last Saturday night at his Bowling Green apartment but found the apartment vacant.
Background:
About 10:25 p.m. June 2, three intruders reportedly broke into an apartment at the Enclave II complex wearing masks and carrying what appeared to be handguns. They demanded marijuana from the occupants then proceeded to ransack the apartment.
Mr. Hardwick's former roommate, Orlando Barrow, 19, was arrested the night of the crime and later was indicted on the same charges. He is free on bond.
