TOLEDO -- Ohio ranks as one of the top states in the nation for foreclosed homes. According to foreclosure.com, Ohio has 11,400 foreclosed properties.
Following the example set by states such as California, and Florida, the realtors at Welles Bowen are trying to lessen that number. The realty company is offering free foreclosure bus tours. The tour seats 27 people, and is three hours long. Guests can expect to see five to seven foreclosed homes and learn valuable information from housing experts.
Foreclosure expert Yvonne Johnson said, "We're trying to attract 1st time home buyers, anybody who just want to move on up into a home maybe they couldn't have afforded two years ago because the market, the prices were higher."
Nathan Conrad and his wife Leslie are looking to upgrade their current home, and move into a better neighborhood. "It gives you a chance to see what's out there. You may find something you like, you may not. But, it gives you an opportunity to see what's available."
Welles Bowen is offering the free tours once a monty, but they fill up fast, so you must register ahead of time.
The dates are as follows: July 27, August 24, September 21, and October 19. For more information, visit the link below.
