HOLLAND, OHIO -- Super Cinemas Toledo in Holland's Spring Meadows is set to close its doors.
The National Amusements Theatre will close Sunday, April 30, 2008 after the last show. The decision comes after owners and operators determined theatre operation is no longer financially viable.
Super Cinemas Toledo employs 27 staff members who are being offered positions at other National Amusements theaters.
“Our employees are very important to us, and this is not a decision we make lightly,” said Wanda Whitson, company spokesperson. “We are making every effort to find these employees other opportunities within our company. We also wish to thank our loyal patrons who have shared great movies and memories with us over the years.”
The Silver Screen Classics program will move to Showcase Cinemas at Fallen Timbers.
Showcase Cinemas Levis Common will be the new home of the Showcase Art program. Patrons will also be able to enjoy a new Showcase Art Lounge.
Reel Deal fans will be able to enjoy popular films on a minimum of five dedicated screens at the same discount price at the Maumee 18: Cinema de Lux location.
Patrons of the Super Cinemas Toledo may use movie passes, gift cards and prestige tickets at Showcase Cinemas Fallen Timbers located at 2300 Village Drive West, Maumee, Ohio; Maumee 18: Cinema de Lux; Showcase Cinemas Levis Commons and also at the Franklin Park 16: Cinema de Lux.

The property where the Super Cinemas theatre is located is owned by National Amusements. The company is interested in redevelopment of the property for alternative uses.
