BOWLING GREEN, OH -- Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal crash Thursday.
The pedestrian involved, a white male, has not yet been identified. He was wearing Nike tennis shoes, black sweatpants, a black sweatshirt with green lettering "BGSU" on the front, a green winter coat and a red Cleveland Caveliers hat. He was not carrying any identification. Police estimate the man was 5'10" to 6' tall, weighing 170-180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.
The accidented happened around 11:45 a.m. on US Route 6 west of State Route 25.
Troopers say a tractor-trailer was headed east on US 6 approaching an exit ramp when a pedestrian walking westbound apparently stepped into the roadway and was hit. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers found the following items in the pedestrian's coat pockets: a pair of red knit gloves with a Brutus the Buckeye emblem, a black Nike headband, Marlboro Light menthol cigarettes and a set of keys with no identifying marks.
While the incident is still under investigation, alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
