HOLLAND, OH -- Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity has been helping struggling families get into permanent housing for 20 years.
Friday, the organization handed the keys out to their 150th new homeowner.
The home in Holland now belongs to Allie Bailey.
Like all new Habitat for Humanity homeowners, Bailey will pay a mortgage on the house. She also put her own sweat into building it.
This particular project had her working alongside volunteers from Wal-Mart. More than 200 employees put more than two thousand hours into building the home.
"The unique thing is they're working together on the build and that can be pretty special and there's a bond that's created there so when she moves in to the home she'll always have those memories of those people that reached out and helped her, which is pretty special," said Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Mike McIntyre.
Habitat for Humanity has been struggling to keep up with the pace of need.
Many partnerships with builders have been on hold in this recession.
