TOLEDO, OHIO -- Close to 2,000 runners from 24 states and Canada participated in the 2009 Glass City Marathon.  The pre-race favorite Matt Folk of Oregon, Ohio prevailed with winning time of 2 hours and 31 minutes.  This was the first time that Folk has ran in the Glass City Marathon.  Ryan Desgrange, a 1998 graduate of Liberty High School, ran his way into the Guinness Book of World Records by running the fastest ever marathon while dressed as a film character.  Desgrange was dressed as Rocky Balboa.  He wore a black wig, boxing trunks and boxing gloves.  Desgrange won the marathon in 2006 with a record time of 2 hours and 27 minutes and said that "I wanted to do something different and bring popularity to Toledo and the marathon."  Thousands of Toledoans lined the marathon route cheering on the runners and handing out cups of water.
