Glass City Marathon Registration Now Open

Race Officials Expecting Big Turnout with Addition of ½ Marathon

Toledo, OH - Registration is now open for the 2009 Glass City Marathon to be held April 26, 2009. Early-bird registration is available through December 31, 2008. Discounted registration prices are available online and have been extended to March 31, 2008.

Events include the Glass City Marathon, presented by the Toledo Roadrunners, the Glass City Half Marathon, the Glass City Marathon Relay, the Glass City 5K Run/Walk, the Glass City Kids ½ mile and 1 mile run, and the Glass City Health & Fitness Expo presented by Get Fit Toledo.

Training for the 2009 races begins in November with Randy’s 10-miler. We will have an expanded training schedule and training locations will be advertised soon in collaboration with Dave’s Running Shop.

"We are very excited for this event in 2009," said Clint McCormick, Race director. "We have a lot of community support and new sponsors to make this event a huge success.” We have added chip timing, a post race party and on-course entertainment along this fast scenic course. Last year over 20% of our marathon field qualified for Boston and we expect a great turnout this year. We are encouraging everyone to sign up now to take advantage of the early-bird specials.

11:59 EST April 15, 2009. A mail-in registration form will also available on the registration page of the website. Mail-in registration forms must be postmarked by April 15, 2009. If space is available, registration will resume at the Glass City Marathon Health & Fitness Expo at the Seagate Convention Center race weekend.
