2008 Toledo Walk for PKD
Walk for PKD
PKD is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic diseases affecting more people than Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and sickle cell anemia-combined.
PKD affects all races, ethnic orgins, men, women and children, all ages. The affected persons kidneys develop fluid-filled cysts on both kidneys, causing kidney failure. There is no cure. Dialysis and Transplant are the only treatment options. There is 2,000 people in NWO who suffer from PKD.
The NWO PKD Chapter is holding its third annual walk.
This is a national walk with 60 other cities. This is a not for profit foundation. PKD foundation leads the fight against PKD through research and funding, advocacy, and patient education.
