FIRST EVER TOLEDO EVENT--TOLEDO FILM NOIR FESTIVAL
First Ever Festival in Toledo:
Toledo Film Noir Festival
September 12-13, 2008
The classic film genre fastest gaining in popularity in the U.S. is FILM NOIR—that style of film-making that started in the 1940s and continued through the 1950s. Called FILM NOIR, because of the atmospheric black & white photography, darker dramatic themes and vivid characters, it has been a hit on the east and west coast in festivals for several years.
Now Toledo will have its own yearly festival celebrating this fascinating style and era of motion pictures!
The dates: Friday, September 12, 7:30pm and Saturday September 13, 7:30pm
The location: The historic Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Ave. in Toledo’s Old West End.
A classic 600-seat theatre with balcony and 30 foot screen utilizing state-of-the-art projection.
The films:
Friday, September 12: 7:30pm: “D.O.A.” (1949) Edmund O’Brien stars as a man thrust into the nightmare of having to track down the killer who slipped him a fatal poison giving him only days to live!
