Saint Martin de Porres’ 5th Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Shoot-out Announced

Over 350 kids expected to help raise funds for youth and community outreach programs

St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church announces its 5th annual 3 on 3 Basketball Shootout. The 3 on 3 Basketball Shootout is a double elimination tournament for both boys and girls ranging in age from 8 to 18. This year’s indoor tournament will be held June 14, 2008 at Central Catholic High School, 2550 Cherry Street, Toledo, OH. As many as 96 teams, in 6 divisions will compete for the championship titles. In addition, several local high school and college coaches are expected to be present to watch the players showcase their skills on the hardwood.

Tournament play begins at 9:00am. Doors open at 8:00am for check-in. Admission for spectators is free. For more information, visit http://www.saintmartindeporres.com/3on3. Proceeds from this event help fund St. Martin de Porres’ outreach programs such as its scholarship fund, Youth Programs, Food Pantry and the Claver House. The Saint Martin De Porres Youth Programs help to keep at risk youth off the streets. The scholarship fund helps to provide a Catholic education for students whose families may otherwise not be able to afford one. The Saint Martin de Porres Food Pantry and Claver house help to feed hundreds of Toledoans who would otherwise go hungry.
