Human interaction with babies is crucial to their development. But there are different rules when it comes to sleeping and playing. Here’s Dr. I with some Tummy Time tips.
"Did you know that the rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or Crib Death has dropped by more than 50% since 1992? But what happened in 92'? The American Academy of Pediatrics made a recommendation for babies to be put to sleep on the back, and that decreased the amount of crib deaths. But what about tummy time? If babies should sleep on their backs, they should be playing on their tummies. Tummy time is important for normal development. So be sure to play with your baby a few times a day for a few minutes every day with them on their tummies but make sure they sleep on their backs. For NBC 24 I'm Dr. I. Stay healthy Toledo."
