Four Home Health Care facilities in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan have been named 2009 HomeCare Elite™ agencies.
The recognition, the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry, is given to the most successful Medicare-certified home health care providers in the United States.
ProMedica Health System (PHS) announced the following as being selected for the honor: Caring Home Health Services in Toledo, Ohio; Visiting Nurse Service of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio; Caring Visiting Nurse – Lenawee/Monroe in Adrian, Mich.; and Fostoria Community Hospital Home Health in Fostoria, Ohio.
"The 2009 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing their patients with the best possible care while performing at the highest level," said Nancy Buller, senior director of Marketing Communications, OCS HomeCare.
The review is conducted annually, identifying the top 25 percent of agencies and highlighting the top 100 and top 500 overall.
An analysis of performance measures determines the rank of the winners. This includes quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
The professional experience of the nursing staff and their focus on the quality of care delivered to patients is what helps the rankings, said Marty Murray, director of ProMedica Home Health Care.
The 2009 HomeCare Elite is brought to the industry by OCS HomeCare, the leading provider of home care information, and DecisionHealth, publisher of home care's most respected independent newsletter Home Health Line.
