Au unset stomach doesn’t have to be part of your daily life.  Here’s Dr. I with some tips on soothing your stomach.

“Well everybody today has acid indigestion or esophageal reflux commonly known as GERD.  What are some of the things that increase it?  Well smoking, being overweight certainly can increase the amount of GERD and the discomfort associated with it.  Other things you might not think about, certain medications like ibuprofen or aspirin can increase GERD.  Certain foods, spicy foods, but believe it or not fish oils can increase the amount of GERD.”

“But not with fish.  What are some of the things that will be helpful?  Well believe it or not why don’t you switch that morning donut, which has a lot of oils in it, to a good bowl of oatmeal.”

“Believe it or not fresh ground ginger, beans and substituting apple sauce for oils in your cooking will also help decrease the amount of acid reflux and the pain associated with it.  Certainly if you’re experiencing pain like that see your doctor to make sure that’s what you’re dealing with.  For NBC 24 I’m Dr. I.  Stay healthy Toledo.”
