Meteorologist Michael Schlesinger knew at the age of four he had to work in weather.

The tornado scene in "The "Wizard of Oz" helped him decide to fulfill his on-camera dream, plus the fact Michael is actually born on Groundhog Day, Feb. 2.

Michael came to NBC24, Toledo's Weather Station, in October of 2004. He has spent most of his TV career in the Ohio Valley, including Evansville, Ind., Parkersburg, W. Va., and Cincinnati, Ohio.

He has also worked in Lansing, Mich., and Wichita, Kan.

Michael is originally from Atlanta, Ga., home of The Weather Channel. He even interned there for two years during college.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Penn State University, and he has both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association Seals of Approval.

When he is away from the station, Michael likes to hike, play tennis, work out, and swim. He also has spent time volunteering for "Meals on Wheels" and working in various rescue missions.
